Itinerary
On the first day of the tour, you start by meeting your guide at breakfast. You then leave Windhoek together to start your journey to the Kalahari, a gem often overshadowed by its renowned neighbour, the Namib Desert. However, those who explore the Kalahari are consistently rewarded. Teeming with diverse wildlife and vegetation, this semi-desert is an ideal starting point for your Namibian adventure.
Its captivating red dunes and expansive, dusty vistas also offer an excellent sunset – the first of this tour.
After enjoying your breakfast, it’s time to commence your expedition to the Namib Desert. The scenic vistas you encounter during the journey infuse excitement into the adventure itself, and don’t hesitate to pause for capturing some unforgettable photographs.
You’ll reach the camp for a late lunch, leaving the remainder of the day entirely at your disposal to relax and unwind.
Begin your day by embarking on a scenic sunrise drive to the entrance of Namib-Naukluft National Park. This roughly 60-kilometer trip promises breathtaking views, featuring iconic landmarks like Dune 45, Big Daddy Dune, and Sesriem Canyon. As you approach the end of the paved road, your 4×4 driving skills will be valuable in reaching the last parking area. From there, a short hike leads you to the mesmerizing Deadvlei.
After your adventure, return to the camp for a laid-back late lunch and a relaxing afternoon.
Start your day with a scenic drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund in Namibia. Along the way, make sure to visit Solitaire for their renowned apple pie and vintage car display – a popular must-see.
About 2 hours into your journey, you’ll reach the Tropic of Capricorn sign and pass by the fascinating Kuiseb Canyon. Arriving in Swakopmund in the late afternoon, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore the town at your leisure.
Today’s ideal for coastal enjoyment! The All-Star Classics Tour features the Marine Dune Day Combo, kicking off in the morning. Brace yourself for a full day of coastal escapades, beginning with a morning wildlife cruise. Post-lunch, embark on an exhilarating 4×4 dune ride to Sandwich Harbour.
The evening is yours to explore Swakopmund at your leisure.
Following a breathtaking coastal drive, your guide brings you inland towards Twyfelfontein in the Damaraland region. This area is famous for the Ugab River, the Save the Rhino Camp, the quaint town of Uis, and its otherworldly, Mars-like landscape adorned with ancient rock engravings.
In the afternoon, take in the unique charm of the region and then relax at the lodge.
Before departing Twyfelfontein, you will be taken to the rock paintings site and to the Damara Living Museum, the first and only traditional Damara project in Namibia.
A short two-hour drive from Twyfelfontein leads you to the Palmwag Concession, an expansive 550,000-hectare protected zone. Situated between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha National Park, this exceptional region in Namibia showcases a volcanic landscape that took shape 125 million years ago.
The Palmwag Concession is an excellent spot to witness the endangered Black Rhino. On this day, an experienced guide will lead you on an open game drive to the rhino habitat, initiating a tracking adventure on foot. The outing kicks off between 6 am and 6:30 am, with a pre-excursion briefing held the evening prior.
This excursion is part of the tour package.
We’re now off to Etosha National Park, a much-anticipated highlight for many travelers. En route, we’ll make a stop at the Omapaha Himba Village to delve into the Ovahimba lifestyle and culture.
Upon reaching the lodge, you can unwind and watch as animals gather around the waterhole.
Animal enthusiasts, this promises to be an exhilarating day! Set aside the entire day for a thrilling game drive through Etosha National Park, where you’ll pause at waterholes to witness a variety of wildlife in their natural surroundings.
In this park, you can expect to encounter a diverse array of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and numerous other fascinating species.
During your third day in Etosha National Park, you’ll venture to the Onguma Nature Reserve situated along the park’s eastern boundary. Onguma is home to a diverse community of wildlife, with more than 30 distinct animal species and a remarkable 300 bird species.
Ask you guide to either take a leisurely drive around the reserve, or select a prime spot by the waterhole to observe the rich fauna it offers.
Following three enchanting days in Etosha, your guide takes you to Waterberg. This vast plateau mountain, named “Waterberg” in Afrikaans, stretches approximately 50 kilometers in length and 16 kilometers in width.
Depending on when you arrive, you have the opportunity to engage in various activities, such as hiking, observing wildlife and birds, or simply unwinding while immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the area. The park entrance fees are covered.
With this tour nearing the end, it is now time to go back to the capital. Arriving in Windhoek mid-afternoon, you have time to explore the city, relax, and enjoy a good dinner.
