Fish River Canyon
The Fish River Canyon is the largest in Africa and the second-largest in the world after the Grand Canyon in the USA. The Canyon is 161 km long, 27 km wide, and up to 550 m deep, making it also one of the most visited attractions in Namibia.
Situated in the south of the country, people who want to view this wonder drive for many hours in a Mars-like scenery formed by rocky landscapes and cliffs. The area is accessible to hikers only when the temperature is cool enough, from May to September. The river flows during the rainy season, from January to April.
