Value Considerations
Green season rates (November to April) at most lodges run 20 to 40% below peak rates. For the boutique and luxury tier, this is a significant saving for essentially the same quality of experience, adjusted for the different wildlife and weather character of the green season. Group size and charter flights: Charter flight costs are fixed per aircraft, not per seat. A group of six shares the Windhoek to Palmwag charter cost across six people, making it broadly comparable to or even cheaper than a per-person commercial fare would be if such a service existed.
What luxury lodges include: The all-inclusive rates at Desert Rhino Camp and Damaraland Camp cover accommodation, all meals, all lodge activities (rhino tracking, wildlife drives, walks, night drives), park and conservation fees, laundry, and non-alcoholic beverages.
