The Stiltz consists of twelve bungalows built on wooden poles above the lagoon edge north of Swakopmund, connected by wooden walkways and accessed from the shore. Each bungalow is self-contained, with its own deck over the water, and the sounds of the lagoon, the wind, the birds, the water below the floorboards, are part of the accommodation experience.
The Character
Arriving at The Stiltz at dusk, walking the wooden walkway out over the water to your bungalow, and sitting on the deck above the lagoon with the Swakopmund lighthouse visible to the south and the pelicans moving across the water below is an experience that the town’s standard hotels cannot replicate. It is the most atmospheric accommodation in Swakopmund and one of the more distinctive accommodation experiences in Namibia.
