Day 2: Walvis Bay, kayaking with seals (morning); catamaran cruise (afternoon, includes oysters and seals). Dinner at The Raft in Walvis Bay.

Day 3: Cape Cross seal reserve day trip (150km north; full day; 100,000+ seals). Return to Swakopmund; dinner.

Day 4 (morning departure): Sandboarding or quad biking (early). Depart midday.

Best for: Wildlife enthusiasts; those who specifically want Cape Cross.


Itinerary 3: Three Nights. Photography Focus

Day 1: Arrive. Living Desert tour (afternoon; chameleon and sidewinder photography).

Day 2: Lagoon morning, kayaking with seals (best light; 07:30 departure); afternoon Sandwich Harbour (operator manages tide timing; drone photography on the dune crest).

Day 3: Cape Cross (early morning for the sea mist and arrival light on the seals; 05:30 departure; arrive 07:30). Afternoon: lagoon road drive for flamingo in afternoon light.

Day 4: Sandboarding for abstract dune photography (dawn start for raking light on dune faces).

Best for: Photographers across multiple subjects.


Itinerary 4: Six Nights. Coast, Desert, and Skeleton Coast

Days 1 to 3: Swakopmund and Walvis Bay programme as Itinerary 2.

Day 4: Drive north on C34; Terrace Bay (200km; the southernmost Skeleton Coast national park access); overnight at Terrace Bay NWR camp.

Day 5: Skeleton Coast south; stop at Cape Cross on return. Arrive Swakopmund late afternoon.

Day 6: Sossusvlei departure via C28/C14 south (350km; 4 hours to Sesriem Gate). Arrive Sossusvlei.
