The Johannesburg Hub

The vast majority of international visitors connect through O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Johannesburg is connected to Windhoek by multiple daily flights; the connection is reliable and well-served. Air travel from most of Europe, North America, and Asia involves an overnight in Johannesburg or a same-day connection depending on flight timing.

Connection Times

Allow minimum 3 hours at Johannesburg for international-to-Namibia connections; the O.R. Tambo airport is large and immigration for arriving international passengers can be slow.

The Domestic Network

Air Namibia and several charter operators fly from Eros Airport (Windhoek city) to Katima Mulilo, Lüderitz, and other domestic destinations. Charter flights to Etosha, the Skeleton Coast, NamibRand, and Kaokoland depart from Eros.
