Day 1: Arrive Anderson Gate by early afternoon. Check in at Okaukuejo. Afternoon circuit: Chudob → Goas → return via pan margin road. Sunset at Okaukuejo waterhole area. Floodlit waterhole vigil from 21:00.
Day 2: Gate open → Chudob (lion priority) → Rietfontein → Salvadora (cheetah) → return to Okaukuejo for midday rest. Afternoon: Nebrowni → pan margin → Okaukuejo. Evening floodlit waterhole 20:30.
Day 3: Morning circuit before departure. Exit Anderson Gate.
Best for: Visitors with limited time; Etosha as part of a wider Namibia circuit; first-time visitors with time constraints.
Itinerary 2: Three Nights. The Recommended Programme
Focus: Central section plus Halali central circuits Camps: Two nights Okaukuejo, one night Halali Fahrzeug: 2WD or 4×4
Days 1 to 2: As Itinerary 1 (two nights at Okaukuejo).
Day 3: Drive from Okaukuejo to Halali via the main circuit (70km, stop at Goas and Rietfontein en route). Afternoon circuit from Halali: Charitsaub area. Halali floodlit waterhole evening.
Day 4: Full day Halali circuits: morning west toward Rietfontein and Salvadora; afternoon east toward Charitsaub. Exit via Anderson Gate or continue to Namutoni.
Best for: Most first-time Etosha visitors; good balance of coverage and depth.
Itinerary 3: Four Nights. All Three Sections
Focus: Western, central, and eastern sections Camps: Two nights Okaukuejo, one night Halali, one night Namutoni Fahrzeug: 2WD for main circuits; 4×4 if including western section
Days 1 to 3: As Itinerary 2 (Okaukuejo and Halali).
Day 4: Drive from Halali to Namutoni (90km, 1.5 hours; stop at Charitsaub and Kalkheuwel en route). Afternoon: Klein Namutoni circuit. Namutoni floodlit waterhole evening.
Day 5: Klein Namutoni → Kalkheuwel → Fischer’s Pan observation → return. Exit Von Lindequist Gate.
Best for: Visitors who want comprehensive Etosha coverage; those with the eastern section’s black-faced impala as a priority.
Itinerary 4: Four Nights. Photography Focus
Focus: Waterhole photography timing; floodlit sessions; open plains cheetah Camps: Two nights Okaukuejo, one night Halali, one night Namutoni or Okaukuejo again Fahrzeug: 4×4 preferred for greater circuit flexibility
Day 1: Late afternoon arrival Okaukuejo. Pan margin golden hour photography. Floodlit waterhole 21:00 to 01:00 (black rhino; tripod and long exposures).
Day 2: Gate open → Chudob (lion golden hour) → Goas (large herds, morning light) → Salvadora (cheetah morning stalk). Midday rest. Late afternoon: pan margin sunset. Floodlit waterhole.
Day 3: Halali. Morning west circuit for predators in early light. Afternoon: Charitsaub and Rietfontein. Halali floodlit (intimate, low crowds).
Day 4: East toward Klein Namutoni (giraffe drinking; morning light). Kalkheuwel (elephant). Return.

Itinerary 5: Five Nights. Private Lodge Combination
Focus: All sections; guided night drives; walking rhino encounter Unterkunft: One night Ongava (Andersson’s), two nights Okaukuejo, one night Halali, one night Namutoni Fahrzeug: Own or hire for park driving; guided at Ongava
Day 1: Arrive Ongava via Anderson Gate. Afternoon game drive on Ongava reserve (white and black rhino, lion). Night drive.
Day 2: Morning walking rhino encounter at Ongava. Afternoon: transfer into park to Okaukuejo. Evening floodlit waterhole.
Days 3 and 4: Central section circuits from Okaukuejo and Halali. Floodlit waterholes both nights.
Day 5: Drive to Namutoni. Eastern circuit.
Day 6: Morning Namutoni circuit. Exit Von Lindequist.
Best for: Wildlife enthusiasts who want both guided and self-drive; those prioritising white rhino on foot.
Itinerary 6: Three Nights. Etosha and Damaraland Connection
Focus: Compact Etosha combined with Damaraland wildlife Camps: Two nights Okaukuejo, one night Halali; entering via King Nehale from Damaraland
Day 1: Drive from Palmwag (Damaraland) via Kamanjab and Hobatere to King Nehale Gate. Enter park; drive to Okaukuejo (90km inside park). Afternoon circuit. Floodlit waterhole.
Days 2 and 3: Central section circuits as Itinerary 1.
Day 4: Halali and exit via Anderson Gate toward Outjo and Windhoek.
