Itinerary
On the first day of the tour, you head to the Kalahari. Often overlooked by tourists for its neighbor, the Namib desert, people who venture into the Kalahari are never disappointed. Home to a variety of fauna and flora, the semi-desert is a great place to start your tour of Namibia.
The red dunes and vast dusty landscapes also make it a prime spot to watch your first sunset of the tour.
Once you’ve had your breakfast, it’s time to set off on your journey to the Namib Desert. The picturesque landscapes along the way make the trip itself an exciting part of the adventure. Feel free to make stops for some memorable photos.
You’ll arrive at the camp in time for a late lunch, and the rest of the day is all yours to unwind.
Kick off your day with a picturesque sunrise drive to the entrance of Namib-Naukluft National Park. This approximately 60 km journey will treat you to stunning sights, including Dune 45, Big Daddy Dune, and Sesriem Canyon. Once you reach the end of the paved road, your 4×4 driving skills will come in handy to reach the final parking spot. From there, a brief hike will take you to Deadvlei.
Following your adventure, head back to camp for a leisurely late lunch and some afternoon relaxation.
Begin your day with a scenic drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund in Namibia. On your way, don’t miss the chance to stop by Solitaire, known for its delicious apple pie and the vintage cars on display – a must-do activity that’s quite popular.
About 2 hours into your journey, you’ll come across the Tropic of Capricorn sign. Another interesting spot along the route is the Kuiseb Canyon. You’ll reach Swakopmund in the late afternoon, leaving you with the rest of the day to explore the town at your own pace.
Today’s the perfect day for some coastal fun! Included to the All-Star Classics Tour for that day is the Marine Dune Day Combo that starts in the morning. Get ready for a full day of coastal adventures. Start your day with a morning cruise to spot some cool marine wildlife. After lunch, it’s time for an exciting 4×4 ride through the dunes, all the way to Sandwich Harbour.
Then, you’ve got the evening to do your own thing and explore Swakopmund.
After a stunning drive by the coast, you head inland towards Twyfelfontein in the Damaraland region. The region is know for the Ugab river, the Save the Rhino Camp and the small town of Uis. The Mars-like landscape is also known for very ancient rock engravings. You can enjoy the region in the afternoon and unwind at the lodge.
Before leaving Twyfelfontein, you can stop on the way to check out the famous rock paintings and the Damara Living Museum.
A short two hour drive from Twyfelfontein, is the Palmwag Concession, a 550,000-hectare protected area. Located between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha National Park, this unique area of Namibia is a volcanic landscape formed 125 million ago.
The Palmwag Concession is renowned as a prime location for observing the endangered Black Rhino. On this day, an experienced guide will take you on an open game drive to the rhino territory, where you will commence tracking them on foot. The excursion begins between 6 am and 6:30 am, and a briefing will be conducted the night before.
This excursion is included in the tour package.
It is time to head to Etosha National Park. This is a long-awaited moment for many travelers.
An optional tour of a Himba village is available to learn about their ancient culture. Your journey in Etosha begins at the Anderson gate, in the southern end of the park. Depending on your arrival time, you can start visiting Etosha National Park in the afternoon to have a first glimpse of what you can expect on the following day.
This is an exciting day for animal enthusiasts. Spend an entire day driving through Etosha National Park, stopping at waterholes to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.
On your third day in Etosha National Park, you will head to the Onguma Nature Reserve, located on the Eastern boundary of the park. There are over 30 different animal species and 300 bird species living in Onguma. Drive around the reserve or find a spot near the water hole to observe the fauna.
After spending three magical days in Etosha, you head to Waterberg. Meaning “water mountain” in Afrikaans, it is a massive plateau mountain about 50 kilometers long and 16 kilometers wide.
Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy activities such as hiking, game and bird watching or simply relaxing while looking at nature.
