10 Days of Adventure
Arriving in Windhoek, you will be met at Hosea Kutako International Airport by your guide. He will take you into the city to see a few sights along the way before heading out to Okonjima Plains Camp - home of the Africat Foundation. Here, a leopard viewing or a large carnivore tracking on foot can be done.
Day 2 and 3
After breakfast, more cat-themed activities may be enjoyed before leaving towards Ongava Lodge. This exclusive lodge is situated in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve along the southern boarder of Etosha National Park.
The day of arrival may be finished off with a beautiful sunset drive, while the next day can be spent on local game drives looking for elephants and rhinos, as well as drives into Etosha Park, where great scenery and wildlife await.
Day 4 and 5
From Ongava Game Reserve, the tour will take you to the Aba Huab valley in Damaraland. Nestled in the rocky hills, we find Camp Kipwe with breath-taking scenery. Here, you will enjoy the trips with the local guides who have extensive knowledge of the beautiful geographical features as well as the ancient rock art and botany of the area.
An exciting opportunity presents itself in searching for the well-adapted desert elephants, with good chances of close-up encounters. The rock formations provide an excellent setting for amazing sunsets that can be enjoyed over dinner.
Day 6 and 7
A leisurely breakfast prepares you for the scenic drive down to the Atlantic Ocean, heading along the Skeleton Coast to Swakopmund. Established by German colonists in 1892, the colonial buildings and long beaches make the perfect location for a slight rest.
Specifically coastal activities such as quad biking in the dunes, a kayak trip with Cape fur seals or even a marine cruise on a luxury catamaran provide an interesting interlude, starting off the second half of the tour.
Day 8 and 9
After a day of rest and civilisation, the tour will take you south into the Namib Desert. With beautiful landscapes, the oldest desert is not to be missed. Amazing activities allow you to immerse yourselves in the red dunes at Sossusvlei, a must-see for any traveler.
On arrival, we will take an afternoon trip to visit Sesriem Canyon, which often catches fresh rain water and attracts animals from the surrounding desert. The evening will be concluded with yet another mind-boggling sunset over the red dunes.
An early departure to Sossusvlei National Park the next morning will enable you to catch the sunrise on the way in, with the colours of the dunes making for amazing photography. We will explore Deadvlei and climb one of the biggest dunes in the world, known as Big Daddy.
Finishing our tour with a relaxed drive from Sossusvlei to Windhoek will give you a chance to reflect on the beautiful time you had visiting the highlights of Namibia. The personal drop-off at the airport will round off this exclusive tour that will leave you yearning for the wide, open spaces of the gem that is Namibia.
