Sossusvlei

Sossuvlei is what you have in mind when you think about a Namibian desert. Located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, it is known for its enormous red dunes reaching 300 meters high making it the largest dunes in the world.

The area of Sossuvlei includes many popular sights such as Deadvlei, Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Sesriem Canyon, Big Daddy, and Solitaire settlement.

It is also astounding to observe the variety of flora and fauna that managed to adapt to this arid and extreme desert environment.
