On the eastern side of that river corridor, the terrain transitions into Kaokoland: the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia with Epupa Falls, the Himba communities, and the remote valleys of the Marienfluss and Hartmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Connection for Fly-In Visitors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The most practical connection from the northern Skeleton Coast to Kaokoland is by aircraft. Fly-in visitors at Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp or Skeleton Coast Camp can continue by aircraft to the Kaokoland area; several operators offer fly-in circuits that combine both regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A flight from the northern Skeleton Coast camps to Epupa Falls or to the Marienfluss Valley covers in an hour terrain that a vehicle expedition would take three to four days to cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Connection for 4&#215;4 Expedition Travellers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For expedition travellers with serious 4&#215;4 capability, the Kaokoland approach from the east (via Opuwo) connects to the Kunene River at Epupa Falls; the Skeleton Coast is then accessible via permitted desert tracks.
