The Kazungula Bridge crossing (opened 2021) has transformed this connection: the old pontoon ferry that once caused significant delays has been replaced by a road bridge, making the Botswana border crossing straightforward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Drive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Katima Mulilo \u2192 B8 east \u2192 Kazungula Bridge (Namibia-Botswana border) \u2192 Kasane, Botswana \u2192 A33 \u2192 Kazungula, Zambia \u2192 Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total from Katima Mulilo: approximately 150km including both border crossings; 2.5 to 3 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Border crossings:<\/strong> The Namibia-Botswana crossing at Kazungula Bridge is straightforward (passports, vehicle documents, road tax for Botswana). The Botswana-Zimbabwe crossing at Kazungula town requires the same. Both crossings are operational from approximately 06:00 to 20:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Viktoriaf\u00e4llen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Victoria Falls is the world&#8217;s largest waterfall by volume: 1,700 metres wide, up to 108 metres high, and generating a plume of spray visible from 50km away in flood season. The falls are on the Zambezi River at the boundary between Zimbabwe and Zambia; both sides offer access, with Zimbabwe providing the more complete view of the main falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities at the Falls:<\/strong> Guided walks to the viewpoints; helicopter flights; bungee jumping; white-water rafting (below the falls); sunset cruises on the Zambezi above the falls; Chobe National Park day trips from Victoria Falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Combining with the Zambezi Region:<\/strong> The wildlife of the western Zambezi Region (Kwando, Mudumu) and the spectacle of Victoria Falls are natural companions.
