Fill the tank here regardless of your fuel state; the next fuel is inside Sesriem camp (not reliably available after hours).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Departure timing:<\/strong> Leaving Windhoek at 07:00 to 08:00 reaches Sesriem by early afternoon, allowing an Elim Dune sunset session on arrival day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Swakopmund (350km, 4 hours)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Route:<\/strong> B2 east from Swakopmund \u2192 C28 south \u2192 C14 south \u2192 C19 west \u2192 Sesriem Gate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approach through the central Namib via the C14 is one of the most visually rewarding drives in Namibia. The gravel plains, the distant Naukluft Mountains, and the approach to the dune sea build anticipation through the final two hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solitaire is on this route; fuel there. The gravel sections are well-maintained and passable by any 2WD vehicle in dry conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Etosha (750km, 8-9 hours)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Etosha to Sossusvlei drive is almost always broken into two days with an overnight in Windhoek or on the farm accommodation options along the central Namibia route.
