After having breakfast, you start your journey towards the Namib desert. The scenic landscapes you will pass through make the journey an integral part of the adventure. You can stop along the way to take some memorable photos.

You will reach the camp just in time for a late lunch. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the camp.

Start your day by taking a scenic sunrise drive to the entrance of Namib-Naukluft National Park. The drive is approximately 60 km long and will take you past many beautiful sights such as Dune 45, Big Daddy Dune, and Sesriem Canyon. Once you reach the end of the tar road, you will need to use your 4×4 driving skills to reach the final parking spot from where you can take a short hike to Deadvlei.

After your adventure, return to camp to enjoy a late lunch and relax for the rest of the afternoon.

Embark on a picturesque drive to the Namibian coastal town of Swakopmund to start your day. Along the way, you can make a stop at Solitaire to try their famous apple pie and snap some photos of the old cars that adorn the establishment – a popular must-do activity.

Approximately 2 hours into the journey, you will pass the Tropic of Capricorn sign. Another noteworthy attraction en route is the Kuisib Canyon. You will arrive in Swakopmund in the late afternoon and have the remainder of the day to explore the town at your leisure.

Today is the perfect day to indulge in coastal activities. The Mat-Travel Favourite Tour includes the Marine Dune Day Combo, which starts in the morning. A full day of exploration awaits for you on the coast. Start your day with a morning cruise to spot marine wildlife. After lunch, you will go on a thrilling 4×4 adventure through the dunes, leading you all the way to Sandwich Harbour.

Later, you will have the evening to yourself to explore Swakopmund.

After breakfast, you make your way inland towards the Erongo Mountain range and the Ai Aiba Lodge. The spectacular landscape of massive boulders formed by an ancient volcanic complex is impressive itself.

Once there, you are free to visit the San Living Museum where you can learn about the San people, the earliest inhabitants of Namibia, on a bushwalk and a village tour. The region is also known for its numerous rock paintings.

Going to Etosha National Park, also known as “The Great White Place”, gives you the chance to experience more amazing landscapes.

You have the option to take a Himba village tour on this day. If you arrive early enough, you can begin your visit to Etosha National Park in the afternoon and get a preview of what you can expect the next day.

This is the day all animal enthusiasts are waiting for. Spend a full day driving around in Etosha National Park, stopping at waterholes to observe the wildlife in its natural habitat.

About three hours away from Etosha is Waterberg, a massive plateau mountain about 50 kilometers long and 16 kilometers wide with a height of 200 meters. Meaning “water mountain” in Afrikaans, the region is particularly breathtaking during the rainy season as the landscape turns lush and verdant.

Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy activities such as hiking, game and bird watching or simply unwinding in the quiet environment the mountain offers.

It is time to head back to Windhoek, where the trip has started. You have completed this tour of Mat-Travel’s favorite attractions in Namibia.

Arriving in Windhoek mid-afternoon, you have time to explore the city, relax, and enjoy a good dinner in one of the capital’s delicious restaurants.
